Which Team Got Best Picks In IPL 2018 Auction: It’s been quite interesting auction if IPL 2018 edition. Many teams added big fishes into their squads. There were more than 580 players were under the hammer for bidding. Every franchise wants players who can deliver according to their capability on the field. No one wants to see them let down just because of wrong selection of squad. Team owners has done their job perfectly and matches it with the requirements of the coaches and mentors of the team who has the responsibility to produce performances on the field.
But every team has some big names in their squads on which they have invested more than the requirements. Here is the list of big picks of every single team in the Auction.
Kings X1 Punjab: The opening of IPL Auction 2018 totally lead to the owner of Kings X1 Punjab “Preity Zinta”. She was looking deliberate to pick every big name in the arena. We can see this from the names of players who joined the team with maximum prices. KL Rahul is worth of Rs. 11Cr, R.Ashwin for Rs.7.6Cr, Andrew Tye is for Rs.7.2 Cr, Mujeeb Zadran Rs.4Cr, Marcus Stoinis Rs.6.2 Cr, Yuvraj Singh– Rs.2Cr, Chris Gayle – Rs.2Cr.
SunRisers Hyderabad: Another franchise who has shown brilliant intelligence throughout the auction is SRH (Sunrisers Hyderabad). Star Former test cricketer of Indian cricket team VVS Laxman along with tom moody and Muthiah Muralitharan got the team which can perform at another level. Initially the team has retained two star players from previous season, David warner and Bhuvaneshwar Kumar. They used RTM for Shikhar Dhawan who has been got by King X1 Punjab in Rs.5.20Cr. But everybody got surprised when they bid for Rs.11Cr. for Manish Pandey who has performed really well in the previous Ipl seasons. Wridhiman Saha on for Rs.5Cr, Surprisingly Rashid Khan For Rs.9Cr. 3 Uncapped players Siddarth Kaul- Rs.3.8Cr, Sandeep Sharma Rs.3Cr, and khaleel Ahmed for Rs.3Cr.
Mumba Indians: The Ambani-owned franchise wasn’t highly active during the auctions but made sure to not let go of the players they knew were worth. They got Rohit Sharma (retained 15 crore), Hardik Pandya (retained 11 c), Jasprit Bumrah (retained 7 c), Kieron Pollard (5.4 c), Mustafizur Rahman (2.2 c), Pat Cummins (5.4 c), Suryakumar Yadav (3.2 c), Krunal Pandya (8.8 c), Ishan Kishan (6.2 c). The whole squad seems pretty nice and same regardless of Massive spinner tubanator Harbhajan Singh who’s added to the Chennai Super Kings Squad.
Chennai Super Kings (CSK): Making an IPL comeback after a two-year ban, CSK opted to fill their squad with experienced players rather than young blood. These player MS Dhoni (retained 15 crore), Suresh Raina (retained, 11 c), Ravindra Jadeja (retained 7 c), Faf du Plessis (1.5 c), Harbhajan Singh (2 c), Dwayne Bravo (6.4 c), Shane Watson (4 c), Kedar Jadhav (7.8 c), Ambati Rayudu (2.2 c), Imran Tahir (1 c), Karn Sharma (5 c). This squad seems more experienced than other teams because they concentrated on experienced player rather than new young talent. But will be most dangerous squad like available in all seasons.
Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB): Star player and current captain of Team India “Virat Kohli” will lead the team this time also. He has been superb for last few years for the franchise but he didn’t get support from his colleagues available in the squad. This time they are playing without Chris Gayle but even then this team has picked lot of big names in their favour. Brendon McCullum (3.6Cr) and Quinton de Kock (2.8Cr) comes first in the list. Their decision to retain Yuzvendra Chahal is another very good move, chris woakes (7.4Cr.), colin degrandhomme (2.2Cr), Umesh yadave (4.2Cr) are the other big picks by this franchise.
Delhi Daredevils: DD has been one of the teams with good buys in the auctions but have failed to produce the performances on the field. Two big names come under hammer that Delhi became successful to get Gautam Gambhir (2.8Cr) and Glenn Maxwell (9Cr.) Rishab Pant(15Cr), Chris Morris(11Cr),Kagiso Rabada (4.2Cr) and Mohammad Shami (3Cr), Amit Mishra (4Cr) are the best pick ups by the team franchise.
Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR): The two-time winners swooped in for big match players like Mitchell Starc (9.4Cr), Sunil Narine (12.5Cr), Chris Lynn (9.6Cr), Dinesh Kartik (7.4Cr), Robin Uthapa (6.4Cr), Kuldeep Yadav (5.8Cr) and another brilliant upcoming star of Indian cricket Shubman Gill (1.8Cr), Kamlesh Nagarkoti (3.2Cr), Nitish Rana (3.4Cr). This time they have not retained Most successful captain of IPl Gautam Gambhir. He has joined new and local franchise DD. But even without Gambhir KKR still looks very competitive team of the season with so much big guns.
Rajasthan Royals (RR): RR who has recently entered the IPL arena once again after got suspension for two continuous years, sent a strong message when they swooped in IPL 2016 most expensive player Ben Stokes for Rs 12.5Cr. They followed up with the key player Ajinkya Rahan with Rs. 4Cr. But also has already give Rs.8Cr. to Wicket Keeper bastman Sanju Samson. Rahul Tripathi who performed well in previous season has also got heavy amount of Rs.3.4Cr. but regardless of these two players surprised every one with their pick up in the team- D’Arcy Short (4Cr.), Jofra Archer (7.2Cr.) these two really performed well in Big Bash League.
